Where is the Best Stargaze Site in New Castle County?
Where in DE(preferrably near NCC) is the best stargazing site to get a good view of the Geminid Meteor Shower taking place on Dec 13 & 14 or the Total Lunar Eclipse taking place on Dec 20th?

Check with the MT Cuba Observatory in Greenville. They have sessionsfor observing on Monday I believe.I know they have a web site.Otherwise you want to find a place open to the public and as far from the city lights as possible.

Sheila Barr Officially, Mount Cuba observatory -- highest point in NCCo.
Craig Lindsey Go down rt9 around Bombay Hook - Not New Castle but close.....
further south in the county, namely the MOT area, is in NCC but also is very dark at night, in many places.
Carpenter's State Park in the Newark area is another great spot. I've gone there to see the Leonids and had success. Not sure what their policy is on being there after dark, however. Might want to check their website.
Light pollution is too bad in most of NCC, but I've had great luck viewing from a field in Fair Hill, MD. There are two different parking lots off of Appleton Road (a few miles west of downtown Newark)
@Yvonne...I was just gonna say that...my back yard is pretty good also...i am lucky :)!!
